THE STORY OF LEOPARD BABY EVA
“In one of the zoos there was a pair of leopards,” says Karen Dallakyan about situation how Eve appeared at his “Save Me” shelter (Chelyabinsk, Ural Region).
In general, the animals there were kept well, and the fact that they had babies was a good sign. But, unfortunately, the female leopard was already at a serious age, and as sometimes it happens, she began to have both hormonal and psychological changes that, unfortunately, affected her behavior.
Having given birth to the next two kittens, she refused to feed them and then ate one baby. The second baby - Eva - was rescued, and soon she was brought to Karen Dallakyan.
The situation was critical - Eva did not receive milk for a long time and she was not allowed to be returned back to her mother. In addition, only goat milk (as it is universal for many animals) could replace leopard milk.
In Chelyabinsk, it was almost impossible to get goat’s milk and those who had it were planned for the weeks ahead.
It was a very lucky period because in the shelter there was a goat that had just given birth not so long time ago and Karen was able to get at least a couple dozen milliliters of milk from her.
For the first time, Karen had to inject milk directly into the stomach. Fortunately, everything worked out and Eva began to feel better. Now she eats well, she is fed every few hours, the amount of milk is increasing.
"She already plays, sits down and everything will be fine with her" - says Karen Dallakyan.
Currently, SO.TRAVEL is looking for a suitable conservation or zoo for Eva as well as helping with arrangement a flight for her.
